The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has decided to hire the services of eunuchs on the pattern of Karachi to ensure recovery of property tax.
Initially 50 eunuchs will be recruited who will assist the tax officers and staff in conducting tax survey next month.
These eunuchs will accompany the tax survey teams in all areas and sectors and request the tax defaulters to clear their outstanding dues. If they get positive response they will return to office calmly and if no yes message is given by the defaulters then they will start beating drums outside the doors of homes of the property tax defaulters.
Tax survey in respect of Rawalpindi for the year 2014 will start from April 1 which will be conducted door to door. Teams comprising 50 staff members have been set up which will put on display details of the outstanding tax on the home of every tax defaulter.
Lol, this is a good way to embarrass the defaulters. But dont you think that it is somehow a humiliating work for the eunuchs ? I mean they can have a respectable job irrespective of their gender. Is this the only work they can do ?
