Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Monday said the government follows the path of supremacy of constitution, strengthening of democracy, free media and independent judiciary.
Speaking on a motion regarding law and order situation in the National Assembly, he said the government was ready to provide all facilities for the treatment of Pervez Musharraf’s mother. It will provide air ambulance to bring her to Pakistan for treatment.
Rashid said a committee headed by Punjab inspector general has been formed to investigate the issue of threat to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Moreover, the minister said anyone involved in this incident would be brought to justice.
About the attack on journalist Raza Rumi in Lahore, the minister said the government was taking all measures for the protection of journalists.
Earlier, talking to media, he said that threats given to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Sindh government were threats to Pakistan. He said that Bilawal’s life was more precious than him as the Bhutto family had seen more shocks and martyrdoms.
“Threats given to Bilawal and Sindh government are actually the threats to Pakistan”, he added.
Last week Bilawal Bhutto said on Twitter that he had received life threats from Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, a banned terrorist outfit.
Bilawal tweeted, “Received threat letter from LEJ. Will hold Punjab government responsible 4 LEJ attacks if Sharif cont 2 give them protection & refuse2 take action.”
