Actor Sonam Kapoor says that although the Hindi film industry is like a bubble, with little connect with the real world, it’s the research for her films that keeps her in touch with reality.
“While shooting for my last film, I realised the impact that recession has had on the lives of people, since the film was about how a young couple’s relationship changes after the hero loses his job because of recession,” shares the 28-year-old actor, saying that she feels lucky to have a luxurious life.
“For some people, the highlight of their entire month could be going out and eating a pizza or watching a movie at a multiplex, and here I am visiting four countries in a month. So, in that way, movies have made me socially aware. I now know how simple people live their lives,” she says.
Asked if her last film not doing well at the box office has demotivated her, she says, “I don’t want to be the biggest superstar. I want to be good at my job and I want my work to go down in posterity. I am working for the longevity of my career.”
