Patrolling system in ICT revamped with deployment of trained force

Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control has revamped patrolling system within Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and deployed 50 Bravo/Commando vehicles with one Upper Subordinates and two ATS qualified officials for each vehicle round the clock.

Besides, 28 Static Bravo and Commando vehicles comprising one Upper Subordinate and two ATS qualified officials have also been deployed in Capital.

Highlighting the measures adopted to combat threat perception in Islamabad, an official at the Ministry on Sunday said in addition, 46 Mohafiz Motorbike squads, comprising two officials at each motorbike have been deployed.

Eight Crises Response Teams (CRTs), comprising ATS qualified officials, have also been deployed at National Assembly Gate and France Chowk while 15 Anti Riot Units (ARU) Reserves have also been deployed within ICT to meet any law and order situation as well  as Re-Enforcement of the strength already deployed within Islamabad for performance of security duties.

The official said 20 Night Halting Points have been established along with 20 vehicles within ICT from 2300 hrs to 0700 hrs.

Moreover, he said 58 check points within four Zonesi.eCity, Saddar, Industrial Area and Rural Zones have been established on various key points of ICT functioning round the clock.

The official said the authorities have completed eight different kind of surveys i.e Kachi Abadies, House Hold Servants, Property Dealers, Guest Houses Hotels/Motels/Hostels, Sarias etc. with the cooperation of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

He said Ordinance, 1965 is fully operative and violators are being dealt with in accordance with the law while surveillance of previous convicts are also being checked frequently by the ICT Police through physical checking as well as through informers.

The official said Chief Commissioner ICT has also constituted District Intelligence Committee to review/measure threat perception in ICT, comprising following officers from District Administration, ICT Police and other Agencies.

Deputy Commissioner ICT, Islamabad is Convener of the Committee while its members are Senior Superintendent of Police, (Operations) Islamabad, Representative of Special Branch (AIG/SB), Representative of IB and Representative of ISI.

Moreover, he said, regular meetings with sister Law Enforcement Agencies are held and information exchanged to improve law and order situation as well as security of ICT.

One scanner has been installed at Golra More while two more scanners are being imported from China under the pilot phase, he added.
