CDA chairman want a better capital

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the Machinery Pool Organization (MPO) of CDA to coordinate with Engineering Wing and initiate work within available resources on construction of four slip roads at Aabpara Chowk, slip roads at Ayub Chowk and Ataturk Avenue near Bilal Masjid right from Monday on war footing.

This was decided in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Maroof Afzal, which was attended by the Member Administration, Amir Ali Ahmad, Director MPO, Director Road Marketing and officers of concerned formations of the Authority.

Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal said that the CDA would take effective measures to cope with the traffic jam at various busiest squires of the Federal Capital and to facilitate the citizens at the rush hours. He said that the construction of slip roads at Aabpara Chowk, Ayub Chowk and Ataturk Avenue would enable the traffic to move smoothly without hassle, especially at rush hours. Chairman was apprised that the commuters are facing great difficulties at these traffic blocked squires, particularly during the office hours and get stuck in the huge traffic, which takes a hell of time in clearance. In the aftermath of ever increase in traffic volume, the decision has been taken for construction of slip roads, which would help reduce the heavy burden of traffic in city.

Chairman CDA would visit the sites on Monday to examine the initiation of construction work of slip roads. He also directed the concerned formations of the Authority for construction of link road between Kashmir Highway and Khyabaan-e-Soharwardi. He further directed the MPO to ensure completion of construction work within a short time of four weeks, adding that no delay would be tolerated in this regard. Chairman CDA said that the construction would be completed by the MPO Directorate its own resources.

Chairman CDA has said that commuters are facing great problems due to amass traffic burden and their precious time is wasted during office hours, adding that after the construction of slip roads, rush at traffic signals would not only reduced but would also help in smooth flow of traffic.

 

NO COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS:

Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Maroof Afzal has directed Building Control Directorate to expedite the campaign against the commercial activities in the residential areas of the Federal Capital so that commercial activities could be controlled and legal action could also be initiated against those houses which are still being used for commercial activities.

Chairman CDA issued these directions during a meeting held here at CDA Headquarters. On this occasion Director Building Control, Director Enforcement, and officers of concerned formations of the Authority were also present.

Chairman CDA directed the concerned formation to take prompt action on applications submitted by the owners for approval of building plans at One Window Operation Directorate to facilitate the citizens.

He directed Building Control Directorate to conduct a detailed survey through the monitoring team constituted for the purpose of monitoring the commercial activities in the residential areas of Islamabad and if there were any new commercial activities in houses, Building Inspector of the area would be held responsible. Chairman CDA directed Enforcement Directorate to coordinate with the Building Control Directorate and to continue the campaign against the violators of building bylaws; however, in this regard, he also directed the concerned formations of the Authority to submit their weekly reports on regular basis, which would be reviewed by the Chairman CDA.
