All guns loaded to take on dengue

The district administration has claimed to have finalized all arrangements to fight and control dengue in the garrison city.

According to the district administration officials, separate beds have been reserved for the dengue patients in all three government hospitals of the city including Holy Family Hospital (HFH), BenazirBhuttoHospital and CivilHospital. Medical Superintendent, HFH,  Dr Arshad Ali Sabir said beds have been reserved for dengue patients but no case has been received in the hospital so far.

Meanwhile, the provincial Environment Protection department, tehsil municipal administration (TMA) and Health department have been authorized to register cases against the owners of tyre shops, nurseries and warehouses found violating anti-dengue rules.

District Officer Environment, Mian Muhammad Nawaz informed that there are 443 tyre shops, 293 scrap yards and around 100 nurseries in Rawalpindi which have been directed to take preventive measures against dengue.
