Musharraf’s mother admitted to Sharjah hospital

A spokesperson of general (R) Pervez Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) informed on Saturday that his 95-year-old mother was in a serious condition, and was being rushed to WW Wilson Hospital in Sharjah.

“She has severe breathing issues which could lead to other problems; we fear she could develop heart problems,” said a spokesperson.

Zahra Musharaf had been rushed to hospital two days ago but had recovered well during the last two days.

“Please pray for Musharraf’s mother. She has been taken to the WW Wilson hospital in Sharjah in a serious condition 10 minutes ago,” read a message from the spokesperson.

A high-profile treason case is currently being in progress against the 70-year-old ex president. He is currently in a military hospital in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, and has avoided appearing before the special court, citing medical and security concerns.

Musharraf is facing charges of challenging the Constitution of Pakistan in 2007, when he imposed emergency rule following which he fired top members of the judiciary.

It is not clear if Musharraf would be allowed to travel to Dubai to see his sick mother yet.
