PPP cognizant of temple’s security: Valasai

Advisor to the Pakistan People’s Party patron-in-chief for minority affairs, Surendar Valasai, has said his party is fully committed to the protection of the worship places of minorities across the country and is fully cognizant of the issue of Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple in Karachi Clifton.

In a press statement, Surendar Valasai said the PPP had always led the struggle for minority rights and it was the only political party where people from minority community enjoyed equal rights in its ranks and file.

He said the PPP won’t allow any damage or harm to the Clifton temple and its structure under any circumstances. However, he urged those criticising the issue to wait for the technical aspect of the development work and its impact on the temple structures.

Surendar Valasai said Hindus, Christians, Dalits, Sikhs and other minorities living in Pakistan were not orphans as the PPP leadership had always stood for their rights and protection. He said an elected representatives belonging to the Hindu community including the PPP minority wing Sindh president Dr Lalchand Ukrani, ministers and MPAs had visited the said temple twice and will furnish their report to party leadership.
