President Mamnoon Hussain Friday stressing importance of business community in national economy urged them to complement government’s efforts by helping attract foreign and domestic investment in the country.
Talking to a delegation of Pakistan – Saudi Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PSJCCI) at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the president underscored important role of the entrepreneurs in the ongoing economic turnaround of the country. He called upon them to step up efforts and complement government’s initiatives to fully exploit the geo-strategic location of the country and benefit from the trade concessions offered to the country. He also mentioned the liberal incentive packages being offered by the government to attract foreign and domestic investment in diverse fields.
The delegation of PSJCCI was led by its President Mian Mehmood.
The president congratulated the first cabinet meeting of the Pakistan – Saudi Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry since its establishment in November last year. He expressed the hope that PSJCCI would play an important role to further augment Pakistan – Saudi trade and investment ties and exploring new avenues of trade between the two countries.
The chamber would help bring the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries further closer, the president said and urged its office bearers to focus on increasing Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom was amongst the top 10 major export destinations of Pakistan.
Commenting on various challenges confronting the business community, the president said the government was fully alive to the problems and concerns of the businessmen and all possible steps were being taken to provide an enabling and conducive environment for trade and investment in the country.
