MITHI
Four more people died in the drought-hit Tharparkar district of Sindh on Friday.
According to reports, a four-year-old child and three women died in Mithi, the headquarters of the eastern desert district, which has been stricken by severe drought where shortage of food is said to be one of the death causes.
In recent days after media reports about deaths of children and women in hospitals, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had visited Tharparkar and announced Rs 1 billion for the drought-hit people.
The people, however, are still suffering from hunger and disease as the announced ration supplies and other essentials are yet to reach most areas of the desert.
