CIA Model Town Police claimed to have arrested a couple for smuggling weapons in the province and seized a large cache of weapons.
CIA SP Umer Virk received information that Akhtar Nawaz was coming to Lahore with weapons. He constituted a special police team under the supervision of a CIAModelTown inspector.
The police set up a picket on Motorway at Thokar Niaz Baig and started checking vehicles. The officials stopped a car in which Nawaz along with his wife Robina and children was travelling. During checking, the police recovered modern weapons including eight rifles, 19 pistols, 60 magazines and 5,000 bullets.
The police have registered a case against the couple and started investigations.
