Commissioner again pledges anti-encroachment drive

Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui has ordered removal of encroachment from industrial areas of Bin Qasim and Landhi with equal attention towards development work.

In his address to the members of concerned trade and industrial associations on Friday, the commissioner assured that removal of encroachments and providing security to them was among the priorities of the administration.

He also assured that all development schemes approved for these industrial areas would also be expedited so as to turn all the industrial units fully functional and improve job opportunities for the people.

Senior Director, Anti Encroachment Task Force, Bilal Manzar, Deputy Commissioner – Malir, Kazi Jan Mohammad, SP – Malir, Dr Mujib, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Malir, Ghulam Haider, DSP – Malir city, Khalid Khan, Chief Engineer, Malir district, Rahim Baksh Shaikh and President, Landhi Trade and Industrial Area, Riaz Ahmad along with other industrialists were also present on the occasion.

Shoaib Ahmad said that he was visiting the two areas on special directives of the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah to personally listen grievances of the relevant stakeholders.

He in his on the spot directives sought removal of all movable and immovable encroachment beneath Quaidabad fly-over in 15 days time.

The commissioner said carpeting of all major thoroughfares including those between Malir mandir and Steel Town, Dawood Chowrangi and Younus Textile, General Tyre road, ISL road, Mehran Highway Hospital Chowrangi to Gul Ahmed Chowrangi will also be taken on urgent basis.

Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui said special measures would be taken for cleanliness of all rain drains in the areas and directed DC – Malir to taken stern action against those involved in disposing off their industrial, domestic and dairy waste into these nullahs.
