At least four persons including a woman were killed in separate incidents of violence in the city on Tuesday.
A man was shot dead by unknown persons in Ittehad Town area of Baldia Town. The victim could not be identified while his dead body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem.
A dead body of a woman was found from Quaid-i-Azam Colony of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. According to police, the victim was tortured and murdered. A man was shot dead in firing incident in Baldia Town. In another incident, a man was injured in firing by some unknown persons near Singer Chowrangi in Industrial Area. He was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
Meanwhile, Rangers arrested several suspects during targeted operation in Muhammad Khan Goth area of Baldia Town. Targeted operation against activists of banned outfits and criminal elements was underway in different parts of the city. According to Rangers spokesperson, around 300 personnel including female officials participated in the operation.
The official Xinhua news agency quoted police in Xinjiang assaying a man identified as Ibrahim Qahar had organised a group of 17 people to produce the explosives at a rented house.
