KARACHI-
The government is not negotiating but begging the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to spare them, said the leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sharjeel Inam Memon on Tuesday.
Hinting a disapproval of the peace talks, Memon said that the government was holding a dialogue with the people it should be fighting and eliminating for spreading terror across the country.
He was speaking to the media reporters in Karachi.
Memon added that some political parties were calling the TTP patriotic and brotherly while its members have attacked the army personnel, schools, markets, mosques and imambargahs.
He did admit that all the political parties had given a mandate to hold talks with the TTP but, he added, innocents were still being killed while the government is holding talks.
I do not disapprove of the peace talks but I don’t approve of them either, said the PPP leader.
