ISLAMABAD-
The first face-to-face meeting, scheduled Tuesday (today), between government representatives and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was deferred due to bad weather, a private news channel reported.
According to sources, the government an TTP reps were to leave for North Waziristan this morning in a helicopter for the first direct meeting with the TTP Shura. However, they had to postpone the plan because the weather conditions were unsuitable for flying.
Member of TTP appointed committee, Professor Ibrahim told the media reporters that once the weather turns favourable for flight, the committees will proceed for talks to NWA.
He said that the meeting agenda would be set on meeting with the Shura, adding that it was improper to make anything public through media at this point.
On Monday, the government representative committee met with the Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan and DG ISI to finalise the strategy for talks with the TTP Shura.
