Pakistan Day’s honorific ceremony held after eight years

A glorious ceremony to mark the Pakistan Day was held at the President House Islamabad on Sunday morning.

President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, chiefs of armed forces, chairman joint chief of staff and top military and political brass were also present in the ceremony.

President and prime minister hoisted national flag to inaugurate the ceremony.

The dignified ceremony was held virtually after eight years at the President House.

Parade, march-past and fly-past were also held to pay respect to the soldiers of Pakistan, who rendered sacrifices in the line of duty.

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircrafts and helicopters displayed the skill and strength of our military forces.

Earlier, the day dawned with special prayers for progress and prosperity of the country and with a 31 gun-salute in the federal capital as well as 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals.

Pakistan Day is being celebrated all across the country to mark the passage of the Lahore Resolution that led to the creation of a separate homeland for the South Asian Muslims in 1947.

The historic resolution, known as the Pakistan Resolution, was approved on March 23, 1940.
