6 operations resulted in recovery of 2.6 tonnes of drugs, arrested 5 persons and seized 1 vehicle
According to details ANF conducted 6 operations throughout country, which resulted in recovery of 11 Kgs Heroin, 2426 Kgs Opium and 177 Kgs Charas. A total of 5 persons have been arrested along with recovery of 1 vehicle.
ANF Quetta on information seized 2426 Kgs of Opium from Tehsil Bashor, District Pashin. The drugs were placed at a Cache Site in folds of uninhabited mountainous terrain. The site was being used as transaction place between two Narcotics Gangs.
ANF Quetta on information recovered 174 Kgs of fine quality Charas (of 1 Kg Slab each) concealed under fake body-floor of a loader Hundai. The vehicle was intercepted at Gahi Khan Chowk, Sariab Road, Quetta. On seeing ANF Road Check Team, the driver stopped the vehicle at a distance and managed to escape taking advantage of populated area. As per initial investigations the drugs were being sent to Karachi via Sibi.
On pointation of already arrested person, ANF Peshawar arrested Saifur Rehman s/o Gul Muhammad Khan and recovered 10 Kgs of Heroin and 2 Kgs Charas (each packet of 1 Kg). He was arrested at Al-Nimrah Estate, ShenwariTown, Ring Road, Peshawar.
ANF Lahore on information arrested Muhammad Nawaz s/o Amir r/o Sargodha, Shamim w/o Nasir r/o Nowshehra, Sanam w/o Syed Kamal r/o Nowshehra and recovered 1 Kg Heroin and 1.2 Kgs Charas from their personal possession. They were arrested near Sial Mor, GT Road, Sargodha.
ANF Lahore Airport Team arrested a person, who confessed of having 34 Heroin filled capsules in his stomach. He was to travel by Saudi Airlines Filght No. GF-765 from Lahore to Jeddah.
ANF Karachi intercepted a parcel and recovered 80 Gms of Heroin tactfully concealed in the bag. Consignment was being sent by TCS from Kotli, AJ&K and was destined for UK.
FIRs have been registered in ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
