In order to ensure merit, competence and transparency, a four-member committee headed by Federal Minister for Finance Senator Ishaq Dar interviewed short listed candidates for the posts of chief executive officers (CEOs) of House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC), National Investment Trust (NIT) and First Women Bank at the finance ministry on Saturday.

On the occasion, the finance minister said the government would fulfil all its commitments with the nation by ensuring the selections of CEOs on merit, competence and transparency, which was the hallmark of the PML-N leadership. He emphasized that the state owned enterprises, which were currently not performing up to the required mark will be restructured in a manner to make them efficient and productive.

He hoped the appointment of CEOs on merit will provide PSEs a leadership that could set their direction to performance and delivery. The finance minister added that the best among the short listed candidates would be recommended for final approval of the prime minister.

Other members of the committee are Dr Waqar Masood, finance secretary and additional secretaries of finance ministry and the establishment division.
