Police conducts raids for arresting Ghaus Bakhsh Mehr

Police have registered a case against Ghaus Bakhsh Mehr, MNA, and 24 others for violence and torture on police and it raided Mehr House in Wazirabad to arrest the accused on the orders of Supreme Court.

According to reports, some 200 police officers and personnel conducted raided for arresting the accused of the Jirga which had validated the murder of two girls Shani and Reema. Reportedly, Ghaus Bakhsh Mehr headed the jirga.

After the Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani took suo motu notice, a case was registered against 13 members of the jirga including Ghaus Bakhsh Mehr. When the police team headed by ASP Kamran Nawaz Panjotha raided for the arrest of accused, they were beaten up, tortured and abused.

After the incident, Lakhi Ghulam Shah police station registered a case against them for preventing police in the performance of official duties. Since then, the accused had disappeared and police were raiding different places for the arrest of Ghaus Bakhsh Mehr and others.
