PESHAWAR
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak on Saturday granted Rs 7 million cheque to the Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) for welfare of legal fraternity.
The CM handed over the cheque to PHCBA President Ishtiaq Ibrahim at a ceremony held at the Peshawar High Court.
Khattak hoped that the funds would not only assure the welfare of legal fraternity, but also make them play their role in dispensation of inexpensive and instant justice to people. He said advocacy was the most respected profession that would serve the people and would play a significant role to establish crime-free environment.
The ceremony was attended by KP Advocate General Abdul Latif Yusufzai, KP Additional Advocate General Qaiser Shah and KP Deputy Advocate General Haji Sohail, KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, advisers to CM Ziaullah Afridi and Amjad Afridi, DADEC Chairman Ishtiaq Urhmurh and Law Secretary Muhammad Arafeen.
