Relief work to continue till last affectee gets aid: Taj

Coordinator for relief operation Taj Haider said on Friday that relief work would continue till last drought affectee in Tharparkar received relief package.

He said this while chairing a meeting here on Friday. He said the relief work was being geared up to reach out the last drought victim. He directed the Tharparkar deputy commissioner to obtain suggestions from nominated members of relief committee for distribution of wheat on daily basis in the areas where aid had not yet reached.

He also directed the officials of livestock department to make a list of areas in need of fodder for arranging immediate supply. He directed the DHO to send the patients who were in critical condition to Hyderabad and Karachi for better treatment.

Speaking at the meeting, DMO Tharparkar Muhammad Hanif Abro informed that 92,181 wheat bags had been distributed among the affectees and there was a need of additional 22,000 bags.

MPA Mahesh Kumar Malani, Commissioner Mirpurkhas Sajid Jamal Abro and other officers concerned also attended the meeting.
