The 12th free pollen allergy relief camp to be set up at AabparaCommunity Center will start providing medical treatment to allergy patients from March, 31.
Arrangements for holding free allergy relief camp have already been reviewed by the concerned departments at length.
According to Islamabad DHO Dr Azhar, the district health department has been holding these free camps since 2004 in the spring season and so far 62,000 allergy patients have been treated at these camps.
Pharmaceutical companies, chemists of city co-operate and donate medicines for the free pollen allergy relief camp.
Besides this, Hakeem Rizwan Hafeez, allergy expert Dr Osman Yousaf and Athar Niaz Rana also dedicate their services and attend the patients at the camps, he added.
Three treatment facilities are provided at the camps including allopathic, homeopathic and Tib-i-Unani and separate counters are set up for the children, males and females. All medicines are provided free of cost to the patients.
It has also been decided to constitute a technical committee comprising of experts to address the issue of pollen allergy and eradicate the causes of allergy.
The officials have been directed to lay especial emphasis on the awareness drive against pollen allergy and distribute pamphlets in the city creating awareness about the disease.
The DHO, Islamabad would distribute pamphlets in those sectors which were most affected in the past particularly in Sector, F-8, G-7, E-8, H-8 and I-10 and run the campaign on the pattern of drive against dengue.
