Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid said on Friday that government is introducing business reform which reflects government’s sincerity to bring economic reforms in the country.

He said this while addressing third Pak-china Business Forum, which commenced Friday with the objective to promote university-industry collaborations in business and sectors for the mutual benefits of both the countries.

More than 130 Chinese companies and 100 Pakistani companies have displayed equipment and appliances in the 4-day expo. The federal minister inaugurated the expo and visited the stalls. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said Pakistani companies, small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs, universities and research and development organisations will attend the forum which will give boost to economic activities in the countries.

The minister said Pakistan and China shared common values and interest and such events would bring them closer. Zahid Hamid said the government was making investment environment-friendly in the country.” We assure fullest cooperation to foreign investors and will facilitate the companies who are interested in investment “.

He said such forums promotes and facilitates economic progress of the country through transfer of technology and diffusion of knowledge, which was very important especially for the South Asian region.

While addressing on the occasion, the Pak-China Business companies CEO proposed many business programmes of mutual interest. Promoting and supporting greater efforts to develop renewable sources of energy and implement policies at the national and international level was of vital importance, he added.

CIIT Rector, Dr S M Junaid Zaidi proposed to continue such activities to provide a platform to Chinese and Pakistani business community for the promotion of mutual trade activates. The forum will conclude on Monday. CIIT also organised Business Forum in March 2013, and 2012 in collaboration with Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in which 32 Chinese and 88 Pakistani Companies participated and MoUs were signed between various organisations.
