Fazl fails to get his brother appointed as FIA Peshawar in-charge
Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman has failed to get his brother Ziaur Rehman appointed as in-charge of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Peshawar Zone after Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan rejected all requests in this connection.
Sources claimed that after alliance with the federal government, Fazl had been continuously pressurising Khan for the appointment of his brother but the interior minister had remained unmoved by his requests.
Sources added that Fazl had also complained Khan’s indifference during a meeting with federal ministers Ishaq Dar and Pervaiz Rashid.
Furthermore, sources said that Fazl was allegedly keen for the appointment of his brother in Peshawar as the daily income in FIA Peshawar Zone was more than Rs 1 million.
Ziaur Rehman was hired as supervisor in Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) few years ago. Later, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor appointed him as Additional Commissioner Afghan Refugees (BPS-17) during the previous government and after that he was promoted on the recommendation of former president Asif Ali Zardari. He has also worked as acting commissioner.
Moreover, the interim KPK government has also initiated investigations against Ziaur Rehman on embezzlement and corruption charges.
