Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has called upon government to shift district courts to some safe place due to Islamabad Kutchery incident besides making payment of compensation amounting to Rs 10 million to family members of each martyred lawyer and Rs 1 million to each injured persons.
PBC met Thursday under its Vice Chairman Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhry. Meeting was attended by Punjab Bar Council Vice Chairman Ahmar Hussain Cheema, Sindh Bar Council Vice Chairman Abdul Sattar Qazi, KPK Bar council Vice Chairman Akhtar Ali Khan and Roye Nasrullah and Khawaja Manzoor Qadir from Azad Kashmir Bar Council.
The council announced to observe complete strike on March, 22 besides condemning Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan statement on Kutchery tragedy.
The council demanded of the government to give equal representation to PBC in the appointment of judges, appointment of judges be made against vacant posts in subordinate courts on merit and Rs 100 million grant be provided to provincial bar councils.
