City administration fines 101 profiteers, hoarders
The city administration has fined 101 profiteers and hoarders Rs 96,000 in the city during past 24 hours, said a spokesman of Karachi Commissioner’s office on Wednesday.
Majority of those were challaned for violating the officially approved price list for different food items including vegetables, dairy products, chicken and grocery.
The profiteers were said to be mainly from Garden, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Jamshed Quarters, SITE area, Nazimabad, Gulberg, Airport area, Landhi and Korangi.
Those fined included flour millers, 34 chicken sellers, six grocers, 11 green grocers, one fruit seller and 48 milk sellers.
