Mortar shell blast kills six in NWA

At least six members of a family were killed when a mortar shell exploded inside a house in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) on Wednesday.
According to sources, the explosion took place in Shawwal Tehsil of NWA when a person, identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin, found a mortar shell and brought it home. The shell exploded when he started cutting it, killing six people, including four women and a child on the spot.
Meanwhile, at least five people were injuries in a bombing in Peshawar’s Sarki Gate area.
Police and bomb disposal unit reached the scene and started relief and rescue operation. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.
Police said the bomb was planted near Sarki Gate area.
Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) personnel told that at least half a kilogram of explosive material was used in the bomb. A house was partially damaged in the incident.
