Ownership rights awarded to residents of six katchi abadis in Rawalpindi
The Punjab government has given ownership rights to the residents of six katchi abadis (slums) in Rawalpindi.
Documents related to ownership rights have been distributed among the inmates of the katchi abadis including Wagon Colony, Bhoosa Gowdan, Kashmir Colony, Ram Bagh, Chaman Zar and Ziaul Haq Colony.
As many as 1,700 families in these colonies have deposited the cost of land and development charges in RawalTown.
The preparations are underway to award ownership rights to the residents of six other katchi abadis including Kaliam Abad, Dhok Hussoo, Sabza Zar, Tauhid Abad Chaklala, Kurri Road Katchi Abadi and Novelty Cinema Katchi Abadi.
