Report on the deaths of children due to Thar drought was presented in the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday.
A division bench of the SHC comprising Justice Maqbool Baqir and Justice Farooq Ali Channa took up Thar drought case for hearing on Friday.
Chief Secretary Sajjad Salim Hattiana, secretary food and secretary health appeared in the court. The chief secretary told the court that the Tharparkar deputy commissioner, DG Health services, Mirpur Khas deputy commissioner live stock and all administrative officers had been transferred. A fact-finding committee had also been constituted and the Hyderabad DIG had been appointed as inquiry officer. He assured the court that stern action would be taken against the responsible.
As per report, the chief minister had ordered to distribute 87,500 gunny bags of wheat and 60,000 gunny bags have been distributed so far. Rs 30 million have been released for district hospital, Mithi.
It was further said in the report that 15 mobile veterinary teams were operating in Thar and 800 animals were being vaccinated daily in the area.
