Taliban warlord escapes suicide attack

Driver killed, two suicide bombers gunned down by Mullah Abdur Rehman’s men

 

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) shura member Mullah Abdur Rehman on Thursday escaped a suicide attack, while his driver and two suicide bombers were killed in the attack.

According to a statement of the TTP North Waziristan shura, two suicide bombers attacked Mullah Abdur Rehman near Sargardan Chowk in Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan. The Taliban commander narrowly escaped the attack with minor injuries. However, his driver was killed in the suicide attack.

Rehman’s two aides opened fire on the suicide attackers due to which both the attackers were also killed.

The NWA shura confirmed that Rehman sustained injuries in the attack. The commander has been actively involved in fighting US forces in Afghanistan and is based in North Waziristan.
