Policies made Pak lucrative place for investment: PM

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the government’s economic reforms and sustained efforts have placed Pakistan on development track and their policies have made Pakistan a lucrative place for the foreign investors.

The primate minister said this while talking to a delegation of Chinese Company Gezhouba Group of Company led by its President Nie Kai in the PM house.

The prime minister said that Pakistan provided ample investment opportunities in energy, infrastructure and other sectors of economy. The PM told that their government had investment-friendly policies and they would like the world-wide investors including Chinese to invest in Pakistan.

Nie Kai, President of Chinese Company, which is working on Neelum-Jehlum power generation project, briefed the prime minister on the progress of project and assured him that the project would be completed in its stipulated time.

Nie Kai appreciated the investment policies of the government and told the prime minister that their company was interested in investment in Gadani Power Project, Dasu Power Generation Project, and cement industry. He said they were encouraged by the support and assistance provided by the government of Pakistan. The prime minister appreciated the investment plans by the company and said the government would provide all facilities to the investors. The PM said they had prioritised power sector and would welcome the private as well as international investors in the sector.

The development in infrastructure is also one of our priority areas and the Chinese company may also consider investment in this sector, PM told Nei Kai.

Defence Minister Kh Asif and SAPM Tariq Fatmi were also present in the meeting.
