Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a high level committee headed by Provincial Labour Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar in order to celebrate Pakistan Day in a befitting manner and to commemorate the innumerable sacrifices offered during Pakistan movement.
In this regard, the first meeting of the committee was held on Thursday. Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Industries and Commerce Minister Ch Muhammad Shafiq, Secretary Schools Education Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, Information Additional Secretary Fazal Abbas Rana, Deputy Secretary to Chief Minister Shahid Iqbal and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
During the meeting, proposals were presented for celebrations of Pakistan Day across the province at district level. Some of the suggestions included exhibition of photographs regarding Pakistan Movement, national songs competitions, plays on freedom movement and Kalam-e-Iqbal.
Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan and Ch Muhammad Shafiq presented recommendations for celebrating Pakistan Day befittingly.
A sub-committee was constituted during the meeting which would apprize of pace of progress in this regard.
