  • Sindh labour minister not to abandon drought victims of Tharparkar

 

Opposition parties have submitted a joint requisition for convening Sindh Assembly session over the drought in Tharparkar.

The requisition signed by the members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been submitted at the Sindh Assembly Secretariat.

While calling the session of the provincial legislature, the opposition parties have demanded of the government to unveil the people responsible for the drought in Tharparkar, which claimed several lives in desert region.

RELIEF WORKS BRIEFING:

Sindh Minister for Labour Asghar Ali Khan Junejo has said that the drought affected people of Tharparkar would not be left alone in their difficult time and every help would be provided to them.

At a briefing about relief works at the Deputy Commissioner Office in Mithi, he directed the Tharparkar DC to expedite relief efforts in the most-affected areas and wherever the help of Labour Department’s teams is needed it should be availed, said a handout issued on Wednesday.

He said that the Labour Department has set up medical camps in 12 union councils of Tehsil Chachro, where over 5,000 people have been treated. Now, medical camps would be set up in Islam Kot and other places, he added.

On the occasion, the Labour Minister dispatched four mobile vans of the Sindh social employees’ security institution to Islam Kot and Manjhi.

Landhi Circle Chief Medical Officer Dr Ghulam Sarwar Lashari and other officers accompanied him.
