Registration of property dealers, tenants made mandatory in Rawalpindi

Registration of property dealers and tenants has been made mandatory in the city, Rawalpindi cantonment and suburbs.

The decision has been taken in line with the strategy devised by Rawalpindi Police to embed the property dealers and tenants in a coherent network to curb terrorist activities.

All the police stations have been directed to complete this task of registration within one month. Under new policy the property dealer and owner of the house will also be nominated in FIR in the event of any criminal activity in a rented home.

It has been made clear on the property dealers and owners of the houses to provide all the particulars of the tenants to the respective police station before renting out their houses. Following the completion of registrant work, a specific SIM will be provided to the property dealers to enable them to communicate the antecedents of the tenants to the relevant police station.
