Insufficient evidence: Dasti’s allegations dismissed by committee

ISLAMABAD-

The allegations made by Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti about “immoral activities” at the Parliament Lodges were dismissed on Tuesday by the inquiry committee constituted for the investigation of his claims.

According to sources, the seven-member committee stated that the submission of empty liquor bottles was not credible evidence that proved the MNA’s allegations.

The committee added that Non-Muslim lawmakers also resided at the lodges for parliamentarians and were permitted to purchase and consume alcohol.

The committee found no evidence in the entry & exit logs maintained at the lodges and none of the parliamentarians came forward to record their statement.

The committee decided to set up recommendations to prevent any similar events in the future.
