The sixth convocation of Shekinah Bible Institute was held at the Lahore Campus the other day.
The purpose of the event was twofold: awarding degrees and medals to successful students; and recognising the services of Pakistani Christians who contributed to the development of the community.
A total of 76 students from the Lahore, Quetta, Islamabad and Kasur campuses were awarded degrees. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to the high achievers.
The second half of the ceremony focused on appreciating the ministerial and community services of Pakistani Christians from the past. These included Elder JD Saleem, Elder Dr Siraj Din, Rev Prof Daniel Baksh, Mr DC John, Prof Dr KL Nasir, Prof Khurshid Gill, Rev Alfred Shauq, Prof Dr Aslam Ziai, Elder AR Gulab, Rev Yaqoob Paul, Capt Rehmat Ullah and Rev Dr Shahid Siraj Din. Shields were awarded to Rev Dr Hezkial Sarosh, Father Emmanuel Aasi and Dr Christy Munir for their services to the Christian community.
The event was attended by a large number of Christians from all walks of life.
