One more child died in the Civil Hospital of Mithi, raising the death toll to 131 in drought-hit Tharparkar as people in the remote areas were still waiting for assistance, a private news channel reported on Sunday.
According to details, the miseries of people, living in the outskirts of desert district, have further increased as relief activities were yet to be started in such areas. At least 200,000 people are affected by the drought in the area.
The situation in far-flung areas, where the people were facing acute shortage of food has worsened and they were using chilies to fight the starvation.
Several villages have been vacated and the people were migrating to other cities.
According to sources the relief work was limited to city areas of the Tharparkar only.
