The District Bar Association Rawalpindi President Raja Nasir expressed unsatisfaction over the security arrangements in the district courts premises.
He said that there is dire need to enhance the security on priority to avert any untoward incident.
Law-Enforcement agencies should immediately undertake a foolproof security plan for the safety of the courts and thousands of litigants who visit the courts daily. He said that a meeting was held following the Islamabad incident regarding the security and the administration has approved funds for the installation of CCTV Camers and walks through gates to ensure security arrangements in and around the courts premises. He called for deploying young and energetic police officials for security purposes.
To ensure foolproof security, he said that lawyers would be provided security cards. Nasir said that it is our collective duty to keep an eye on miscreants carrying out subversive activities. He condemned the Islamabad terrorist attack in which precious lives were lost including additional Session Judge Rafaqat Awan.
There is no proper space to park the vehicles which is also a serious security threat, meanwhile, District courts comprising two special anti-terrorism courts, family courts, labour courts, two bar rooms, three mosques, Commissioner Rawalpindi, District Coordination Officer DCO and City Police Officer CPO.
