Swine flu affectee count reaches 16

Three more patients were tested positive for the swine flu in Multan, raising the numbers of affected people to 16 while three patients died of the deadly virus so far.

The virus-affected patients belong to Multan city, Shorkot, Tunsa, Khanewal and Shujabad.

Meanwhile, the health department has issued a warning after several more cases of swine flu were detected in the province.

Three people, including Humaira from Multan and Rubina from Taunsa Sharif, have died due to swune flu. They were taken to Multan Nishtar Hospital but could not survive.

Abdur Rehman, 40, of Khanewal was brought to the hospital later he too died last Wednesday.

Doctors said swine flu had first time appeared during 2009, causing panic across the world. He said that the affected person could be contagious for up to 10 days, adding that the vaccine required to protect against swine flu is available at the hospitals.

Symptoms of swine flu were akin to the symptoms of common flu in addition to fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.
