KARACHI-

The Sindh government on Saturday rejected the offer of Punjab Government for providing aid to the famine-hit residents of Tharparkar, private news channels reported on Saturday.

According to the news report, a handout issued by the Punjab government said that the Sindh government was offered all sorts of help and assistance for drought-hit Tharparkar but the Sindh government has rebuffed the offer.

The Sindh government on Friday ordered to probe into the death of 41 children who reportedly died of pneumonia and malnutrition in Thar.

“It is a very serious matter and we have deputed a senior member of the party and officials to probe into the deaths,” Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, had told reporters.

Shah said the government records showed the death of 41 children but there were fears that the actual number may be higher.
