Paediatric cardiac surgery department to be set up in RIC within 2 months
Heart Surgery Department for Children will start functioning in the next two months in Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC).
A new method of treatment for heart patients will be introduced under the name of Electrophysiology and the services of experts will be hired from other countries in this respect.
Work on the project of heart surgery for children was continuing since the last six months. Now this project is in the final phase of its completion.
RIC Executive Director Maj Gen (r) Dr Azhar Mehmood Kiani said RIC forged string of consultations with domestic and international heart surgery specialists and decided to set up children heart surgery department in the hospital. He stated that machinery to be used in heart surgery of children and EP system of treatment has been received.
