Army to the rescue! Troops dispatched to Thar

The Pakistan Army troops have been sent off for help of the help Tharparkar drought affectees on direction by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

According to a press release by ISPR, Pakistan Army troops from Hyderabad Garrison have left for drought affected areas of Tharprker the PM’s directives.

The contingents are carrying immediate relief goods and rations. Staff of medical camp is also going with them to affected areas with lady doctors, paramedical staff and medicine.

Sindh government on Friday announced a package of one hundred million rupees for the drought hit areas of Tharparkar district.

Famine in Tharparkar has worsened to a dangerous level, raising the death toll of starving children to 124.
