Afghan border police fires 25 mortal shells into Pakistan

Up to 25 mortars were fired from Afghanistan side of the Pak-Afghan border which landed in Pakistan on Saturday, security officials said.

An official said that Afghan border police fired the artillery rounds from Tarkhopi Camp area which landed in a Pakistani village.

The troops at the post confirmed that they too had heard the munitions landing.

No loss of life was reported in the cross-border aggression.

Tensions between the two neighbouring have simmered in the past as both accused each other for cross-border fire.
