Senate on Friday condemned the expulsion of 67 Kashmiri students, studying in a university at Uttar Pradesh, India, for celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India in an Asia Cup match on March 1.
Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq said that India claimed herself to be the world’s greatest democracy, however, without human rights protection there was no use of such a democracy.
He said the only sin of those students was that they were chanting pro-Pakistan slogans after the victory, adding, they were sent to jail and treason cases were registered against them.
Raja Zafarul Haq said the act should be condemned a strong manner.
Leader of Opposition in Senate, Aitzaz Ahsan termed the attitude of India as inappropriate, saying that the opposition also condemned the act.
