Terrestrial punishment for aerial firing

A decision has been taken to take stern action against those who resort to aerial firing during wedding ceremonies and other functions in federal capital and all the districts of Rawalpindi division.

Rawalpindi Additional IG Akhtar Omar Hayat Lalika has issued directives to police officers and field officers of Rawalpindi region on this count.

Sources said police officers have been directed that not only the arms of those found involved in aerial firing be taken into possession but their arms licenses be also got cancelled. This should also be ensured that no arms license is issued to the violators of ban order in future, the directives further said.

The police officers have been directed that implementation of ban orders on the display of arms and aerial firing be ensured strictly.

The police officers have been warned that stern disciplinary action will be initiated against the respective DSP and SHO if they fail to take any action against the violators of ban orders in the limits of their respective police station.
