A woman fed up with persistent starvation, hunger and poverty reportedly killed her two children in JoharTown on Wednesday.
According to the police, Bismah, a resident of Block E, strangulated her 8-month-old son Yousaf and 2-year-old daughter Minahil.
Recording her statement with the police, Bismah said that her husband was a jobless drug addict and continued financial constraints had forced her to murder her children. She said she could no longer bear the cries of her hungry children.
The police have arrested Bismah while the dead bodies have been shifted to a hospital.
