Two more people suspected of being infected with swine flu were brought to Nishtar Medical Institute (NMI) on Tuesday.
According to hospital sources, Khanewal DSP Hakim and his wife Gulfashan were brought to the hospital late Monday night with swine flu symptoms. Later, they were admitted to an isolation ward, No 27, Tuesday noon.
When contacted, NMI focal person Dr Mazharul Khaliq confirmed that two suspects of seasonal influenza have been admitted to NMI. He added that patients’ blood samples had been sent to National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad for analysis.
The total number of suspected patients with seasonal influenza rose to 11, of whom 7 were being treated at Ward No 3 at HDU and another medical facility, he added.
