ISLAMABAD-
A petition was filed in the Supreme Court on Tuesday for disqualifying the parliamentarians who were involved in immoral activities in the parliament lodges, a private news channel reported.
The petitioner, Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi, pleaded the court to investigate the allegation by National Assembly Member Jamshed Dasti and disqualify the parliamentarians who were involved in drinking parties in the lodges.
The petition also added a request to summon Dasti to the court to present the evidence.
National Assembly Speaker, Chairman Senate, Interior Secretary and Election Commission of Pakistan have been made respondents in the petition.
On Monday, Dasti handed the video evidence of immoral activities going on in the parliament lodges to NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
Reportedly, the video comprised of four clips which showed relatives of different parliamentarians busy in immoral conduct in the parliament lodges.
Supreme Court will judge on the evidence presented. Will the evidence come forward? Will Dasti show nerve to resist the "glass fellows"? Speaker is already bushings it up.
