- Five more missing persons presented before Supreme Court
Five out of 35 missing persons, who were picked up from Malakand detention centre, were presented before the Supreme Court (SC) for an in-camera hearing on Tuesday.
The court is hearing a case about the recovery of 35 persons who have been missing since December 2012 after the military authorities allegedly took their custody from an internment centre in Malakand.
SC Justice Ijaz Afzal heard the case. The high-ups of defence and interior ministries and six relatives of missing persons were also presented before the court during the hearing.
Sources said the relatives identified all the five missing persons, who were presented before the court.
It is significant to recall that 12 missing persons out of 35 have been presented before the court. Earlier, the court’s bench headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja had ordered to present seven missing persons.
