PML-N, PTI lock horns in Jhang by-election

Voting process is underway for the by-election in PP-81 Jhang on Monday, a private news channel reported.

According to sources, candidates from Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are contesting the by-elections for the seat of the Punjab Assembly. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have bycotted from the poll after passing allegations that the provincial government is interfering in the electoral process.

The total number of voters in the constituency is 385,000. For the by-election, 117 polling stations have been made in which 20 have been declared sensitive.

Earlier, PML-N’s Iftikhar Baloch was elected in the Punjab Assembly in the General Elections on May 11th, 2013. He was disqualified after his Bachelor’s in Arts (B.A) degree was proven false.

Mazhar Hayat Bhatti of PTI is contesting the by-poll against Iftikhar Baloch’s uncle Mohammad Khan Baloch of PML-N today.

  1. Lashkar Jhanvi is militant wing of PLMn and those Jhanvi supporters would also vote to PMLn. Therefore PMLn winning chances are brighter than the Taliban khan
